Cushion Cover Parrots in Paradise
This cotton cushion cover depicts just that- beautiful coloured birds happily content in their natural environment.
The birds and foliage has been hand appliquéd onto a cream coloured cotton base. Hand embroidery defines the leaves. There is a zip at the back of the cushion cover for inserting cushion. The cushion is not included.
Cushion covers is approx. 40 cms by 40 cms.
Handmade and purchased from the fair trade organization, YWCA Craft Centre, Bangladesh. The YWCA Craft centres are located in the capital Dhaka, and also in Kalijong and Savar villages. About 450 ladies, many uneducated and previously destitute are employed by the YWCA. Benefits include a compulsory 10% savings programme, interest free loans and health and legal support.
