This vibrant two piece costume is a great multicultural boys dressup costume. The dashiki is a colourful mens garment widely worn in West Africa. Blockprinting is one of the traditional skills used to create this vibrant costume. Firstly designs are cut on the wood. ( engraving ) Secondly the dye is made for colouring the material . The dye after being rubbed over the engraved wood is pressed onto the material making the desired design. The print is then dried in the sunlight. The reverse side of the material can only be ironed.
